When you think about it, a star basketball player is the same as a network marketing guru, in many ways. Filmmaker Spike Lee recently filmed Los Angeles Lakers’ star Kobe Bryant in his upcoming sports documentary “Kobe Doin’ Work”, which was shown recently on ESPN cable. Director Lee captures Bryant from his arrival at the arena prior to the game, in the locker room, pre-game preparations, through the actual game, including timeouts. This is very important? You get to see an actual Leader at work. Bryant himself is surprised to learn that he talks so much to teammates during timeouts. You will notice the take control attitude, the willingness of his teammates to actually heed his advice, the sheer will he exudes on and off the court. When you’re building a network marketing team, you have to show similar qualities like Kobe Bryant. Give advice, direction and leadership to the members of your team. You’re the one who takes the final shot, or conduct the webinar or teleseminar. If you don’t think you can be a leader in network marketing, then you’ve shown that you may not really want success in this business. It is by no coincidence that the U.S. won the men’s basketball gold medal at the 2008 Olympics, a feat they didn’t do in 2004. The main reason was the addition of Kobe Bryant. A network marketing team can smell failure and fear. However, a leader wards these feelings off by exuding confidence, intelligence, strong will and persistence. It is most important that you develop your skill sets in network marketing. More personal development should be your goal. Make yourself someone they can look up to and model themselves after, when you sponsor someone. Your team should use you as a template for success, so that they will be inspired not to fail. If they follow your example, then they are well on their way to network marketing success. John Milton Fogg has written the best book for network marketers. It’s called “The Greatest Networker In The World“. Told in the form of a story, it tells of a man who is about to quit on his dream of success in network marketing and sadly join the rat race. He’s giving up on himself and his goals, simply because he didn’t recruit well up to that point. Then he goes to his last hotel meeting, and meets The Greatest Networker In The World. For him, everything changes after that. You can be a champion, like Kobe Bryant. You can indeed be the go-to guy when things seem bleakest. Get a free copy of The Greatest Networker In The World. It is my fervent wish that you enjoy it like I and many others striving for network marketing success have.
